Packaging and transport play a key role in ensuring quality and reliability. Holland Malt offers a broad range of transport and packaging options, adapted to the specific requirements of each customer. Options include 25 kg bags, big bags, palletised or bulk deliveries.
We prioritise intermodal transport, using rivers, canals, and coastal shipping over road wherever possible. Barley reaches our maltings mainly via inland waterways, with sea-going vessels for longer routes. This reduces CO2 emissions and road congestion – a strategy we also apply to beer deliveries across Europe, where possible.
Worldwide transportation
Our state-of-the-art bagging line ensures that malt is packaged securely and arrives in optimal condition. Local and international shipments are managed by our professional Logistics Department, ensuring efficient and reliable delivery — whether by truck, train, container or vessel.
With direct harbour access at our Eemshaven malthouse and both production sites located near the Port of Rotterdam — Europe’s largest seaport — fast and cost-effective global distribution is guaranteed.
Packaging
Holland Malt offers an extensive range of transport and packaging options:
- We supply small malt bags in both 25 kg and 50 kg sizes. These can be delivered on pallets or loose in containers or trucks.
- Would you like to receive your favourite types of malt in larger packaging? That is possible, we also pack our malts in bags of 400 kg, 500 kg, 650 kg, 1000 kg and 1200 kg.
- We can also supply malt in bulk. We will send a truck, ship or train with a bulk order your way. Bulk in 20 ft, 30 ft or 40 ft containers with liner bags and options for a discharge spout. Furthermore, bulk delivery is also possible in tipping or silo trucks, and even in vessels up to 20,000 tonnes
