Our malthouses
Holland Malt operates two large-scale malthouses in the Netherlands, each with its own unique character, history, and specialisation — together delivering more than 400,000 tonnes of finest-quality malt annually.
Eemshaven
Our Eemshaven facility, is designed from the ground up in 2004 and significantly expended in 2018, it is now one of the most advanced malting plants in the world. It is home to the worlds’ first 100% emission-free malthouse, powered entirely by renewable energy. The malt house located in the far north of the Netherlands, is surrounded by the barley fields of the northern provinces and the fresh sea air of the nearby Wadden Sea, a clean and open environment that support optimal malting conditions. Strategically positioned on the North Sea with direct access to a deepwater port , the site is perfectly equipped for efficient and sustainable shipping to international markets. It has a production capacity of 280.000 tonnes a year.

Lieshout
Our historic malthouse in Lieshout has been in operation since the late 1930s and has evolved into a highly specialised production site. We offer a broad range of base and specialty malts from light Pale Ale malts to deep-coloured Caramels, all produced to the highest quality standards. Our malt house in Lieshout has a production capacity of 125.000 tonnes per year. What sets Lieshout apart is our integrated view of quality, not just as maltsters but with the brewers’ perspective in mind. With an ultra-modern laboratory and a dedicated pilot brewery on-site, we test new barley varieties, fine-tune recipes and simulate brewing conditions.
